DAY 1: October 9 - Departure Today we depart the USA
DAY 2: October 10 - Rome
Arrival Upon arrival in Rome, we meet our tour manager after the baggage claim area . Transfer to San Paul Outside the walls, where we have some time at leisure for a light lunch, before a guided tour . We also celebrate our welcome mass. Continue to the hotel for dinner and overnight (D)
DAY 3: October 11 ROME – Vatican Museums , San Peter’s Basilica
This morning, we will visit the Vatican Museums which house what can be described as the most important collections of art in the world. Highlights include The Tapestry Gallery, The Raphael Rooms and The Sistine Chapel where we will gaze on Michelangelo’s incredible masterpiece. We will continue down the Royal Stairway to the Basilica of St. Peter. Break for lunch. In the afternoon we celebrate our daily Mass at the Divine Merci Shrine. Return to the hotel. Time at leisure before dinner and overnight. (BD)
DAY 4: October 12 ROME Imperial Rome
Catacombs After a good breakfast, we start our day with a guided tour of Imperial Rome, we will visit the Colosseum ( inside) and walk along the archeological park of the Emperors ‘ forums,the political and civil heart of ancient Rome , a stratification of streets, squares and buildings whose history, an archeological panorama unique worldwide. – Break for lunch. Regain our bus and drive along the Ancient Appian way to visit the Catacombs , where we also celebrate our daily mass
Our dinner tonight is a pizza and pasta dinner (BD)
DAY 5: October 13: ROME –Canonization - Baroque fountains.
After breakfast we drive to San Peter’s square where we can meet pilgrims from all over the world and thousands of local pilgrims , all are in Rome to meet Pope Francis. Today’s special event is the Canonization of Cardinal John Henry Newman founder of the Oratory of Saint Philip Neri in England; After break for lunch, return to the hotel-to relax. In the afternoon we will take a walking tour to see the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. Tonight we will enjoy a restaurant dinner, to celebrate the Canonization and. Back to the hotel for overnight (BD)
DAY 6: October 14 ROME: Basilicas of Rome
After a good breakfast, we start our day with the Major Basilicas. -The ceiling of the Basilica of St. Mary Major is said to be decorated with gold that Columbus brought back from the new world. This basilica, the largest in Rome dedicated to the Blessed Mother, is part of the day’s “Christian Rome” tour, and has beautiful Biblical mosaics, a marble floor, bell tower and one of the oldest shrines (containing a relic from the manger of the infant Jesus) dedicated to the Blessed Virgin. We will also visit the Basilica of St. John Lateran which is the oldest of the major basilicas and ranks first as the actual “parish church” of the Pope (Bishop of Rome). There we will learn about the Scala Santa (Holy Stairs). Tradition has it that these steps, said to be the staircase leading once to the praetorium of Pilate at Jerusalem, are sanctified by the footsteps of Jesus Christ during his Passion. – Break for lunch, continue with the Holy Cross of Gerusalem, where We celebrate Mass before returning to the hotel for dinner and overnight (BD)
DAY 7 October 15 Day trip to ASSISI
After breakfast, we depart Rome on a 3 hours driving trip towards north, to Assisi. Upon arrival we meet our local guide and we start the tour of Assisi from the Church of St. Clare, which houses her incorrupt body. One of the chapels contains the crucifix that bowed its head and ordered St. Francis to “repair God’s Church”. Afterwards, we will tour the Basilica of St. Francis built in 1228 to house the Relics of the saint. The “upper “ basilica houses beautiful frescoes of Giotto which describe the life of St Francis and his community. Celebrate Mass –Enjoy time at leisure, for shopping, or for personal prayers. In the late afternoon, we depart Assisi on a 3 hours driving trip to Rome for dinner and overnight (BD
DAY 8: October 16 ROME: Baroque churches and squares.: ST PHILIP NERI-
After a good breakfast, we enjoy a guided walking tour starting from Castel St Angelo and cross the bridge over the river, walking through the narrow medieval streets to reach Piazza Navona, and enjoy some free time for a fresh ice cream “tartufo” at “3 Scalini” - Just around the cona, we can see the baroque church dedicated to of St Luigi dei Francesi to see three of the most important paintings of Caravaggio, - Then we will visit the Church of Santa Maria in Vallicella. The interior of this church is a real Baroque joy. A small chapel houses the sacred remains of St Philip Neri,! The people of Rome join the “Seven Churches Visitation” – and old religious tradition that had been revived by Saint Philip Neri
Reports of pilgrimages led by “the Apostle of Rome” had been spreading throughout Italy at “A lot of people came to the Seven Churches with Father [Saint Philip]… many musicians sang and played wind instruments… When people found out Philip was going to the Churches, everyone rushed there too… Psalms and hymns were constantly heard on the streets, and there was such joy it felt like Heaven” (according to the testimony of Domenico Giordano at Philip Neri’s canonization trial).
Regain our bus and transfer to the hotel
Continue walking to to Trastevere, to visit the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere and to enjoy a dinner at a local “Trattoria” Dinner on our own

DAY 9: October 17 – Day at leisure, or optinal day trip to FLORENCE
Breakfast. Drive approx 3 hours to Florece We’ll delight in discovering why Florence is the cradle of the Renaissance – and where one breathes art in the medieval streets, in the craftsmen's workshops, and in the Renaissance Palaces, and the world renowned museums all found within Florence. Here the memories of the Medici family are united with the splendor of the works of illustrious artists such as Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and Botticelli. Enjoy a guided tour to see to the Baptistry of St. John (the religious historic jewel of the city with its “Gates of Paradise”, which were dubbed Michelangelo’s
“Gates of Paradise” because of their exquisite beauty and it is believed that the creation of these began the Renaissance period), Piazza dellaSignoria, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto’s Bell Tower and the Basilica of Santa Croce (a masterpiece of Gothic art and the pantheon of famous Italians artists such as Michelangelo and Machiavelli).
